with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. SQL injection vulnerability in news.php in DGNews 2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the catid parameter in a newslist action. NOTE: this issue can produce resultant cross-site scripting (XSS).

The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-0693 since 02/03/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
