A vulnerability was found in Cisco Unified Communications Manager up to 5.x (Unified Communication Software) and classified as critical. Integer overflow in the Real-Time Information Server (RIS) Data Collector service (RisDC.exe) in Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM, formerly CallManager) before 20070711 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted packets, resulting in a heap-based buffer overflow.
The bug was discovered 07/11/2007. The weakness was published 07/11/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared at cisco.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-5278 since 10/13/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
