Apple iTunes before 8.0 on Mac OS X 10.4.11, when iTunes Music Sharing is enabled but blocked by the host-based firewall, presents misleading information about firewall security, which might allow remote attackers to leverage an exposure that would be absent if the administrator were given better information.

The bug was discovered 09/09/2008. The weakness was released 09/10/2008 by Ruben Santamarta with Wintercore as HT3025 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-3634 since 08/12/2008. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
