Integer overflow in Apple QuickTime before 7.5.5 on Windows allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted PICT image, which triggers heap corruption.

The weakness was disclosed 09/10/2008 by TippingPoint with Apple as HT3027 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-3614 since 08/12/2008. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
