Multiple PHP remote file inclusion vulnerabilities in phpWCMS XT 0.0.7 BETA and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the HTML_MENU_DirPath parameter to (1) config_HTML_MENU.php and (2) config_PHPLM.php in phpwcms_template/inc_script/frontend_render/navigation/.
The weakness was disclosed 10/01/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2007-5185 since 10/03/2007. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details and a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by kezzap66345 and been published immediately after the advisory. The exploit is shared for download at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:config_html_menu.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
