Stack-based buffer overflow in OvCgi/Toolbar.exe in HP OpenView Network Node Manager (OV NNM) 7.01, 7.51, and 7.53 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long OvOSLocale cookie, a variant of CVE-2008-0067.

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at support.openview.hp.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published 3 months after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Attack attempts may be identified with Snort ID 15434. In this case the pattern /OVCgi/Toolbar.exe
