The DCP ETSI dissector in Wireshark (formerly Ethereal) 0.99.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (long loop and resource consumption) via unknown vectors.
The bug was discovered 11/22/2007. The weakness was disclosed 11/23/2007 by Stefan Esser with Beyond Security (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at wireshark.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-6119 since 11/23/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
