Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities in _mg/php/mg_thumbs.php in minimal Gallery 0.8 allow remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the (1) thumbcat and (2) thumb parameters.
The weakness was released 01/15/2008 (Website). The advisory is shared at milw0rm.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2008-0259 since 01/15/2008. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
