Stack-based buffer overflow in db2dasrrm in the DB2 Administration Server (DAS) in IBM DB2 Universal Database 9.5 before Fix Pack 1, 9.1 before Fix Pack 4a, and 8 before FixPak 16 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via a long DASPROF environment variable.

The bug was discovered 04/15/2008. The weakness was presented 04/16/2008 (Website). The advisory is available at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2007-5758 since 10/31/2007. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 1 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k.

Upgrading to version 8 eliminates this vulnerability.
