The WBEMSingleView.ocx ActiveX control 1.50.1131.0 in Microsoft WMI Administrative Tools 1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted argument to the ReleaseContext method, a different vector than CVE-2010-3973, possibly an untrusted pointer dereference.
The weakness was presented 12/22/2010 with WooYun (Website). The advisory is shared at wooyun.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2010-4588 since 12/22/2010. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
