The weakness was disclosed 02/15/2012 as 110172 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.google.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-3018 since 08/09/2011. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. Upgrading to version 17.0.963.56 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at chrome.google.com. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at code.google.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
