The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in download.php in Interface Medien ibase 2.03 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the filename parameter.
The weakness was shared 02/25/2009 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at milw0rm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-6288 since 02/25/2009.
