Opera before 11.62 allows user-assisted remote attackers to trick users into downloading and executing arbitrary files via a small window for the download dialog.

The weakness was released 03/27/2012 by Jordi Chancel (Website). The advisory is available at opera.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-1924 since 03/27/2012. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 74621 (openSUSE Security Update : opera (openSUSE-SU-2012:0610-1)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
