The weakness was disclosed 01/16/2008 by Alexander Kornbrust with Application Security, Inc. (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-7237 since 09/14/2009. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. A simple authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.

A public exploit has been developed in SQL. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
