A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in TikiWiki 3.0/3.1/3.2/3.3/3.4 (Content Management System). This affects the function _find in the library searchlib.php. The manipulation of the argument searchDate with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The software constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. An attacker might be able inject and/or alter existing SQL statements which would influence the database exchange. SQL injection vulnerability in the _find function in searchlib.php in TikiWiki CMS/Groupware 3.x before 3.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the $searchDate variable.

The weakness was disclosed 03/05/2010 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2010-1134 since 03/26/2010. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

By approaching the search of inurl:searchlib.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12338 (TikiWiki CMS/Groupware Multiple Vulnerabilities).

Upgrading to version 3.0 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
