Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 does not properly handle objects in memory, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by accessing a deleted object, leading to memory corruption, aka "HTML Rendering Memory Corruption Vulnerability."
The weakness was presented 03/31/2010 by AdLab with Adlab of Venustech (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-0807. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 100083 (Microsoft Internet Explorer Cumulative Security Update (MS10-018 and KB981374)).
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 9630.
