The weakness was disclosed 05/13/2010 by Pete Freitag (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-1293. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.

It is assigned to the family CGI abuses : XSS. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12647 (Adobe Security Hotfix for ColdFusion (APSB10-11)).
