WebKit in Apple iOS before 4 on the iPhone and iPod touch does not properly implement the history.replaceState method in certain situations involving IFRAME elements, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a crafted HTML document.

The weakness was disclosed 06/22/2010 by team509 with TEHTRI-Security (Website). The advisory is available at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-1407. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 47751 (FreeBSD : webkit-gtk2 -- Multiple vulnerabilities (19419b3b-92bd-11df-b140-0015f2db7bde)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family FreeBSD Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 165213 (SUSE Security Update for Multiple Packages (SUSE-SR:2010:015)).

Upgrading to version 1.1.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
