The extension subsystem in Google Chrome before 17.0.963.78 does not properly handle history navigation, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by leveraging a "Universal XSS (UXSS)" issue.
The weakness was shared 05/09/2012 by Sergey Glazunov with VUPEN as HT5282 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2011-3046 since 08/09/2011. The exploitability is told to be easy.
