Mozilla Firefox before 3.6.7 and Thunderbird before 3.1.1 do not properly implement read restrictions for CANVAS elements, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive cross-origin information via vectors involving reference retention and node deletion.

The weakness was presented 07/30/2010 by Vladimir Vukicevic (moz_bug_r_a4) as Bug 571287 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-1207. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
