The slapi_printmessage function in IBM Tivoli Directory Server (ITDS) before 6.0.0.8-TIV-ITDS-IF0006 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via multiple incomplete DIGEST-MD5 connection attempts.

The weakness was presented 07/27/2010 (Website). The advisory is shared at www-01.ibm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-2927 since 08/02/2010. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
