Bugzilla 2.17.1 through 3.2.7, 3.3.1 through 3.4.7, 3.5.1 through 3.6.1, and 3.7 through 3.7.2 generates different error messages depending on whether a product exists, which makes it easier for remote attackers to guess product names via unspecified use of the (1) Reports or (2) Duplicates page.
The weakness was disclosed 08/16/2010 by Frederic Buclin as Bug 623423 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-2758 since 07/14/2010. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 09/22/2021). The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 48913 (Fedora 12 : bugzilla-3.4.8-1.fc12 (2010-13072)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 118764 (Fedora Update for Bugzilla (FEDORA-2010-13086)).
