The Web Sockets implementation in Google Chrome before 7.0.517.41 does not properly handle a shutdown action, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via unspecified vectors.

The weakness was released 10/21/2010 by Michal Zalewski (Inferno) with Chromium Development Community (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-4038. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
