A vulnerability was found in Adobe Shockwave Player up to 11.5.9.x (Multimedia Player Software). It has been declared as very critical. IML32.dll in Adobe Shockwave Player before 11.5.9.615 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a .dir file with a crafted mmap record containing an invalid length of a VSWV entry, a different vulnerability than CVE-2010-4089.

The weakness was shared 10/29/2010 by Rodrigo Rubira Branco with Check Point (Website). The advisory is available at adobe.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-4087 since 10/25/2010. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/28/2021).
