Apple Type Services (ATS) in Apple Mac OS X 10.6.x before 10.6.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted embedded font in a document.
The weakness was released 11/15/2010 with Apple as HT4435 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-1833. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.

Upgrading to version 10.6.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
