The IO::Socket::SSL module 1.35 for Perl, when verify_mode is not VERIFY_NONE, fails open to VERIFY_NONE instead of throwing an error when a ca_file/ca_path cannot be verified, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended certificate restrictions.
The weakness was presented 12/06/2010 by Daniel Kahn Gillmor (Website). The advisory is available at bugs.debian.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2010-4334 since 11/30/2010. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
