Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in stcenter.nsf in the server in IBM Lotus Sametime allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the authReasonCode parameter in an OpenDatabase action.

The weakness was disclosed 03/01/2011 by Andrew (Website). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-1106 since 03/01/2011. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as highly functional. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 118994 (Google Chrome Prior to 9.0.597.107 Multiple Vulnerabilities).

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at X-Force (65555). The entries 4311, 56671, 56670 and 56669 are pretty similar.
