The stateless address autoconfiguration (aka SLAAC) functionality in the IPv6 networking implementation in Apple iOS before 4.3 and Apple TV before 4.2 places the MAC address into the IPv6 address, which makes it easier for remote IPv6 servers to track users by logging source IPv6 addresses.
The weakness was published 03/11/2011 as HT4565 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-1418 since 03/11/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 2.0.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
