api.php in MediaWiki before 1.15.5 does not prevent use of public caching headers for private data, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions and obtain sensitive information by retrieving documents from an HTTP proxy cache that has been used by a victim.
The weakness was published 04/26/2011 as Bug 620226 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2010-2787. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.

Upgrading to version 1.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
