CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Oracle Application Server up to 9.0.3.1 (Application Server Software). Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component Single Sign-On. The manipulation of the argument p_submit_url with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

The p_submit_url value in the sample login form in the Oracle 9i Application Server (9iAS) Single Sign-on Administrators Guide, Release 2(9.0.2) for Oracle SSO allows remote attackers to spoof the login page, which could allow users to inadvertently reveal their username and password.

The weakness was presented 03/30/2004 by Madison Gurkha (Website). The advisory is available at madison-gurkha.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-1877 since 05/04/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 57619 (Oracle Application Server Multiple Vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Web Servers.

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at madison-gurkha.com.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (15676) and Tenable (57619). securityfocus.com is providing further details. See 15392, 16220, 16221 and 16679 for similar entries.
