A vulnerability was found in HP OpenView Storage Data Protector up to 6.10 (Network Management Software) and classified as very critical. Multiple stack-based buffer overflows in the inet service in HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 6.00 through 6.20 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a request containing crafted parameters.
The weakness was shared 07/01/2011 by Core Security with CORE Security Technologies (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at exploit-db.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-1865 since 05/03/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
