Apache HttpClient 4.x before 4.1.1 in Apache HttpComponents, when used with an authenticating proxy server, sends the Proxy-Authorization header to the origin server, which allows remote web servers to obtain sensitive information by logging this header.
The weakness was presented 07/07/2011 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-1498 since 03/21/2011. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
