foomaticrip.c in foomatic-rip in foomatic-filters in Foomatic 4.0.6 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted *FoomaticRIPCommandLine field in a .ppd file, a different vulnerability than CVE-2011-2697.
The weakness was presented 07/29/2011 as Bug 721001 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-2964. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 11/15/2021). This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 68320 (Oracle Linux 6 : foomatic (ELSA-2011-1110)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
