The Apache HTTP Server 1.x and 2.x allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon outage) via partial HTTP requests, as demonstrated by Slowloris, related to the lack of the mod_reqtimeout module in versions before 2.2.15.
The weakness was published 12/27/2011 by Michal Zalewski (Website). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-6750 since 12/27/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.

It is assigned to the family Gentoo Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 371300 (F5 BIG-IP ASM, LTM and APM Slowloris Attack Denial Of Service Vulnerability (K12636)).
Upgrading to version 2.1.8 eliminates this vulnerability.
