Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in attachment.cgi in Bugzilla 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x before 4.2rc1 allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of arbitrary users for requests that upload attachments.

The weakness was disclosed 01/02/2012 as Bug 703983 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.mozilla.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-3669 since 09/23/2011. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 57591 (Fedora 16 : bugzilla-4.0.3-1.fc16 (2012-0301)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Fedora Local Security Checks.

Upgrading to version 2.17.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
