The weakness was presented 03/21/2012 by Suman Jana (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-1457 since 02/29/2012. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/04/2022). The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1068 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 74664 (openSUSE Security Update : ClamAV (openSUSE-SU-2012:0833-1)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family SuSE Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 165510 (SUSE Enterprise Linux Security Update for clamav (SUSE-SU-2012:0858-1)).
