lib/db/access.php in Moodle 2.0.x before 2.0.4 and 2.1.x before 2.1.1 assigns incorrect capabilities to the course-creator role, which allows remote authenticated users to modify course filters by leveraging this role.

The weakness was shared 07/16/2012 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared for download at git.moodle.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-4296 since 11/04/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a simple authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
