The weakness was shared 07/26/2012 (Website). The advisory is available at nginx.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-4963 since 12/23/2011. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. Upgrading to version 1.3.0 eliminates this vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 12672.
