Aeolus Configuration Server, as used in Red Hat CloudForms Cloud Engine before 1.1.2, uses world-readable permissions for /var/log/aeolus-configserver/configserver.log, which allows local users to read plaintext passwords by reading the log file.

The weakness was shared 03/12/2013 with Red Hat as Bug 875294 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2012-6117 since 12/06/2012. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack.
