Puppet Enterprise before 3.0.1 does not sufficiently invalidate a session when a user logs out, which might allow remote attackers to hijack sessions by obtaining an old session ID.

The weakness was released 08/20/2013 (Website). The advisory is available at puppetlabs.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-4762 since 07/05/2013. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
