Puppet Enterprise before 3.0.1 uses HTTP responses that contain sensitive information without the "no-cache" setting, which might allow local users to obtain sensitive information such as (1) host name, (2) MAC address, and (3) SSH keys via the web browser cache.

The weakness was published 08/20/2013 (Website). The advisory is available at puppetlabs.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-4959 since 07/29/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. Upgrading to version 2.8.3 eliminates this vulnerability.
