Puppet Enterprise before 3.0.1 does not set the secure flag for the session cookie in an https session, which makes it easier for remote attackers to capture this cookie by intercepting its transmission within an http session.

The weakness was presented 08/20/2013 (Website). The advisory is shared at puppetlabs.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-4964 since 07/29/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
