SQL injection vulnerability in Dokeos 2.2 RC2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the language parameter to index.php.
The weakness was presented 12/05/2013 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at htbridge.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-6341 since 11/01/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
A public exploit has been developed by High-Tech Bridge SA and been published before and not just after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 2 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:index.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12788 (Dokeos Language Parameter SQL Injection Vulnerability).
