Multiple buffer overflows in the create_ntlmssp_v2_key function in epan/dissectors/packet-ntlmssp.c in the NTLMSSP v2 dissector in Wireshark 1.8.x before 1.8.12 and 1.10.x before 1.10.4 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a long domain name in a packet.

The weakness was presented 12/19/2013 (Website). The advisory is shared at anonsvn.wireshark.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-7114 since 12/16/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.

It is assigned to the family CentOS Local Security Checks. Upgrading to version 1.10.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
