The weakness was disclosed 10/10/2012 by PwniePie as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at blog.chromium.org. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-5112 since 09/24/2012. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 04/28/2019). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. Upgrading to version 22.0.1229.94 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at chrome.google.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
