The weakness was disclosed 11/14/2014 by Shadow as 7e9060c109b928769a664dbcc2c17bd21231b6f3 as confirmed mailinglist post (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-5312 since 11/14/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.

It is declared as highly functional. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 83235 (Debian DSA-3249-1 : jqueryui - security update), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Debian Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 20026 (Oracle Database October 2016 Security Update Multiple Vulnerabilities (CPUOCT2016)).

Upgrading to version 1.10.0 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
