No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. It is assigned to the family Windows. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 123021 (Adobe Reader and Acrobat Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB14-28)).
Upgrading to version 10.1.13 or 11.0.10 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 19220.
