The bug was discovered 11/07/2012. The weakness was published 11/07/2012 by Alexander Gavrun (CHkr_D591) with iDefense Labs VCP as HT5581 as confirmed advisory (Apple Security Announce). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. The public release has been coordinated with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-3754 since 06/19/2012. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
