This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-0320 since 12/01/2014. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The advisory points out:

Adobe has released security updates for Adobe Flash Player for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. These updates address vulnerabilities that could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system.

A public exploit has been developed in Ruby. The exploit is shared for download at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 81127 (Flash Player <= 16.0.0.296 Unspecified Code Execution (APSA15-02 / APSB15-04)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Windows. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 123259 (Adobe Flash Player Remote Code Execution Vulnerability (APSB15-04)).

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 19480.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (100698) and Tenable (81127). The entries 69009, 69041, 69043 and 69044 are pretty similar.
