Details
A vulnerability has been found in Mozilla Firefox 35 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function nsTransformedTextRun::SetCapitalization
of the component CSS Restyling Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was shared 02/24/2015 by Atte Kettunen as MFSA 2015-20 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-0826 since 01/07/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 03/10/2022).
